my thoughts

To all the creators of cml play and learn. this has been although often hairy and more time consuming for many of us to accomplish, a whole lot of fun. i would not have known about this stuff without this added push. there are things here that i will use often and some that i probably will struggle getting something out of. i love flickr and cooliris and am trying to refurbish my spouslings web site in order to modernize. some of the photos and youtube stuff i sent my nephew for his b'day were not only surprising to him but amusing as well. all and all i feel as though i have really moved forward in the technology department. i had some help in the beginning but half way through i think that i made a conscious effort to move on independently. as far as the difficulty level, i think that the rss feeds thing had some issues. i got it and all, i have a blogline but i am not sure that i am using it to its fullest. i will spend some time getting clearer in that area. i like google docs and now that i have created this blog and the 23 things are nicely imbedded into it, i am now going to focus on the blogs beginning post - cultural dance. i found a tremendous amount of information that deserves some further attention. thank you web 2.0, library joy and all the rest of the super techno geeks who brought this to fruition. still dancin'

Well I've gone and diligently selected two items from the collection but can not get them to download on to an in house computer. I followed the instructions for the download. I will try them at home, maybe my laptop will let me have them. Anyway the collection seems OK, a little hard tow browse if you don't have a title or ISBN. Needs a keyword or something or it is going to take forever to look through.

pods

pods are fun, they remind me of whales, lot's of whales dancing in the sea. and they are also interesting little nuggets when searching for culture. i grabbed a couple of library related pods and added them to my bloglines. i can keep an eye on what goes on in the Toyota library in Japan. they are so culturally inviting that their foreign language collection is a central focal point to the library. they have material in many languages other than Japaneses like Spanish, English, German, French just to name a few.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EGhWx5rN6g is that it, i hope this works because i think i found just what i needed in order to gather up interesting bytes of cultural dance spots to add to my blog. these are great for library; little mini cams that can be used when kids need something quick to add to a social studies project. They can go on to you tube subscribe to an item and bring them up at school. how techie is that!

i like tools....

yes, i already have a toolbar installed on my home laptop that i added during the summer reading program, it is quite handy. i like the lively thing, i may have to pass that one on to my daughter (my comment) not enough time in the day. i played i learned movin'on. actually going to use the rest of the time this week to look at all the e-mails i have accumulated from the wikithing. i am not sure i have all this information thoroughly digested; therefore, i am going to pretend it's ruffage and continue to chew a bit more.

yes, i may have actually accomplished this task, almost free of assistance. the thing is i keep wanting to make up sons about theses little exercising in order to keep track of them. is anyone good at suesisms?

this sounds fun but potentially dangerous if someone uses wiki as resource of fact. the accuracy of the site cannot be considered dependable if it is always in a state of flux.

library web 2.0

This brings an old star trek episode to mind. Is it that everything that is known or will be known be available through the web and the need for paper be reduced to nothing? i think i am adjusting to the 0 circ report and definately have been gradually changing my mind about what the library building should have to house. yet, will our intercommunity contectedness eventually create a sentient being? this would be interesting.

this bookmarking system sounds really handy especially for a researching student. i wish i had this when i was at school, instead i have a multitude of pdf files and downloads held in folders that i probably will never get time to look at. i could have held this info on this site and it would all be organized, labelled and be in order. can't wait to turn some of my family members on to this.

ok i've made a madcap twitter move and found some friends whom i will be watching very carefully from now on. no longer will there be who are you and how did you get here! think of me as the cheshire cat.

this was fun and easy with help but it certainly will be nice to have all my books in a row. it is going to keep the dust down too. ha!
